As you cross the one-lane, 100-year-old wood truss bridge you’ll feel yourself transported back to a simpler time. You’ll find yourself breathing deeper and slower as you journey under a canopy of trees to Green Pastures Farm along the banks of the Roseau River near Gardenton, Manitoba.
Sunrise Corner is thrilled to announce the launch of the first Legendary Experience in the region. Farm, Fibre, Food & Friends is an experiential tourism opportunity that allows visitors to connect, create and enjoy a simpler life on a family farm. Hosts Guy and Leah Bouchard welcome small groups to slow down and spend an afternoon with them on their second-generation family farm. They encourage visitors to immerse themselves in time-honored traditions, create with their hands and sync with the rhythms of a simpler time.
At Farm, Fibre, Food & Friends, you’ll discover the unique process of creating with wool sourced right there – allow the Bouchards to introduce you to the soil and land the livestock have been raised on, feel the raw fleece on the sheep’s back, and learn the traditional process of preparing the wool. At the end of the day, you’ll take home a one-of-a-kind crafted masterpiece you created yourself.
Deepen your understanding of sustainable living and foster a strong bond with the land as you savour a delicious farm-to-table meal with food harvested in their fields, pastures and forests, while enjoying meaningful conversations with new-found friends. This experience is eco-friendly, waste-free, and uses local ingredients and supplies produced right there on Green Pastures Farm.
How can you reserve a seat at the farm?
This is an exclusive opportunity with limited public dates available. For 2023, experiences are being offered on October 21 and 28; November 4 and 25; and December 2 and 9. Private bookings are welcome.
The experience runs 1:30-6:00pm with small groups of five to eight people. Attendees are recommended to wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather with part of the experience being outdoors.

What is experiential tourism?
Experiential tourism is a form of tourism in which people focus on experiencing a particular place by actively and meaningfully engaging with its history, people, culture, food, and environment. Experiential tourism connects visitors with the essence of a place and its people. It engages guests in a series of memorable travel adventures, which are inherently personal, engage the senses, and make connections on an emotional, physical, spiritual, or intellectual level.
Eastman Tourism, one of five rural tourism associations in Manitoba, pioneered the Experiential Tourism Program in 2021. As a member of Eastman Tourism, Sunrise Corner’s Monique Chenier is a trained facilitator in the program and worked as part of a team directly with Leah Bouchard to develop their vision into reality. To date the Experiential Tourism Program has been a resounding success. Visit Eastman Tourism’s website for details on Farm, Fibre, Food & Friends and other Legendary Experiences.
