Sunrise Corner Tourism would like to challenge everyone to attend a local event you’ve never been to before – and for good measure, invite family and friends to come out with you. You’re guaranteed to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Top Picks for June

Music Grooving. Gardenton’s outdoor stage is the place to be for rock, country and folk music and delicious homemade perogies at the AC Music Festival.

Nature Lovers. Commune with nature at easy hiking events. Sign up for Adventures With Nature Norm for tall-grass prairie tours or Forest Walks with local resident Bob Austman.

Mud Puddling. The Piney ATV Mud Run encourages competitors of all ages take their off-road vehicles through a challenging mud pit for good clean fun.

Shop ‘Til You Drop. You’re sure to find unique handmade goods and treasures at Craft Markets, Bake Sales and Community Garage Sales throughout the region.

Revisit History. Go back in time with exhibits, local music and free food at the Sprague & District Historical Museum Annual Picnic.

July’s Must-Do Events

Celebrate Canada. Enjoy two incredible events with South Junction’s Canada Day Family Celebration and Vita Canada Day’s two days of activities for the entire family.

Need for Speed. Cheer on your favorite go-cart racing team at the award-winning, family-friendly St-Labre 200.

Applaud Culture. Gardenton Ukrainian & Multi-Cultural Festival is a whirlwind of colour, music and dance from cultures around the world.

Get Active. South Junction’s Family Slo-pitch Tournament has family teams vying for bragging rights and Woodridge’s Fun Run on the Ridge is the precursor to their family-friendly Summer Fun on the Ridge.

Places to be in August

Community Gatherings. Carrick Days, Sprague Fest and Middlebro Family Fun Day each offer family-friendly activities for all age groups.

Appreciate Nature. Prairie Day is a celebration of the unique and endangered tall-grass prairie right in our backyard.

Play Ball. For more than 50 years, the Vassar Ball Tournament has been a must-attend event for slo-pitch and fastball players, and more recently, competitive corn-holers.

Horse Around. Celebrating their 20-year anniversary this year, Sundown Gymkhana is the place to be for equine competitions and downhome family fun.
