January 2022 Economic Development Update:
It’s a new year and we’ve got exciting news – our online directory is now live on the Sunrise Corner website. We are proud to help raise awareness about all the businesses, non-profits and organizations in our region that add so much to our communities. And by doing so, we hope they are able to reach more customers and increase sales.
For residents, the directory is a simple way to search for the products and services they’re looking for in Sunrise Corner. You can search by business name, category or location (any community in the RMs of Piney and Stuartburn). Or just hit the “Search” button with no parameters, and all listings will come up.
This community resource is easy to use, but it needs input from all business owners, non-profit boards and community club volunteers to ensure we’re accurately listing your organization. The system allows an authorized representative to add a listing if there isn’t one yet or claim a listing if it already exists. These actions will be approved by an administrator before going live.
The process is super simple.
1. Visit the online directory at www.sunrisecornermb.ca/business-listings.
2. Search the directory to see if your organization is listed. We uploaded all the info from the printed directories the municipal offices had created, so many organizations already have a basic listing.
3. Click on the “Add Listing” drop down menu at the top of the page and choose “How to Add a New Listing and Claim Your Listing”. If your business is not listed, just follow the instructions to Submit a New Listing. If your business is listed, follow the instructions to Claim Your Listing.
The listings include all kinds of contact info whether phone number, email address, social media accounts, or your website. The description can include products or services, operating hours, special promotions, ordering, delivery or payment options, really any information that would be useful to your customers. If you want customers to come directly to your location, just enter a street address and the system will automatically generate a Google map. If you don’t want customers visiting (like if you work from home), use your PO box or even just a town to show where you’re located. You can also add photos and logos – remember, a picture is worth a thousand words.
