OFFICE ASSISTANT
The R.M. of Stuartburn invites applications for a full-time Office Assistant.
Job Type: Office Assistant – Full time Position
Closing Date: June 7th, 2024 (or until a successful candidate is found)
Wages: Dependent on qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is also available.
The Position: The successful applicant will be involved in many varied activities of a municipal office.
Responsibilities/Duties: (detailed job description to be provided to successful candidate)
- Serving the public: answering phones, accepting payments, issuing receipts, processing of various licenses and applications, providing timely information to the public on general inquiries, complaints, assessments, taxes and planning.
- Clerical duties related to the operations of a municipal office: word processing, grant applications, letter writing, report writing, maintenance of assessment records, filing and archiving, organizing office maintenance, gathering quotes and ordering supplies.
- Financial duties related to processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, benefits and completing a monthly bank reconciliation.
- Administration of policies and procedures set by Council
- And various other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills:
- Grade Twelve (12) education, with supplemental secretarial, accounting and computer system experience. (Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power Point)
- have analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- have the ability to work independently under minimal supervision, demonstrated ability to handle a large workload, prioritize tasks, structure and time management
- Two (2) years office experience or equivalent
Additional Assets:
- Computer skills with updating and managing a website and social media page; use of Mail Chimp and use of Muniware
Conditions of Employment:
- A criminal record check will be required from the successful candidate
- Positively represent the RM of Stuartburn to the public
- Preference may be given to those with municipal experience
