Sunrise Corner is home all year round to unique festivals, cultural events and sporting activities that will have you coming back year after year.
Vintage Snowmobile Show, Shine & Ride (Woodridge) – March
The South East Sno-Riders host an annual Vintage Snowmobile Show & Shine and 25-mile ride on a non-designated groomed trail. All snowmobiles manufactured in 1995 and older are invited to participate in the Show & Shine with trophies awarded for different categories. All the proceeds raised from the 2020 event were donated to the Never Alone Foundation, a nationally registered charity committed to improving the lives of people affected by cancer.
AC Music Festival Concert (Gardenton) – TBD
From rock ‘n’ roll, to folk and country, you’ll find amazing talent coming from the village of Gardenton. Relax under the shade of an old oak, dance in the lights of the outdoor stage and enjoy free camping, activities and homemade canteen. It’s an event you won’t soon forget.
Canada Day (South Junction & Vita) – July
There are two big ways to celebrate Canada Day in Sunrise Corner. South Junction celebrates with local bands, free hotdogs and community spirit, wrapped up by an unforgettable fireworks show. Vita is known for their parade, rodeo and inspiring display of fireworks that wows and shocks audiences every year. Come out and be part of Sunrise Corner’s fun-filled Canada Day – you don’t want to miss it.
St-Labre 200 – July
St-Labre 200 is an annual go cart building-and-racing competition. Day One is build day, Day 2 is a 200-lap race to determine the winner. The whole weekend is filled with fun and celebration – excavator rodeos, drone races, adult bouncy castles and more. Come out to St-Labre to experience some good ol’ competitive community fun.
Gardenton Ukrainian Festival – July
The Gardenton Ukrainian Festival is a time for family and friends to share stories, eat, dance and celebrate culture. The outdoor stage is teeming with colourful costumes, lively music and prominent local dance groups and musicians. Enjoy delicious Ukrainian fare, homemade from the Gardenton kitchens. Then put on your red boots and dance the night away at the Zabava.
Sundown Gymkhana – August
Sundown’s annual Gymkhana is an equestrian event consisting of speed pattern racing and timed games for riders on horses. Bring a lawn chair to watch the fun show – great event for the whole family. A canteen is provided both days by the Sirko Womens’ Association.
Carrick Days – August
Carrick Days is a fun-filled festival taking place annually in August. There is a parade, horseshoe tournament, rainbow auction, 50-50 and lots of prize draws. The canteen is filled with food and drinks. Bands take the stage while you enjoy a beautiful dinner with the evening wrapping up with amazing fireworks.
Sprague Fest – August
Kick off the day with a parade, then kick back for a barbecue, 3-on-3 basketball, auctions and good ol’ community fun. Don’t miss the evening’s dinner and dance with live entertainment. There is fun for the whole family, and it’s a great way to celebrate the end of summer.
Prairie Day (Gardenton) – August
Enjoy nature? Want to learn more about the tall grass prairie ecosystem? Come out for Prairie Day. Explore the Prairie Shore Trail near Gardenton and learn about endangered plants and animals from experienced guides. It’s family friendly, and it’s the perfect thing to do in Sunrise Corner.
