ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Buffalo Point First Nation Health and Wellness is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant. The role of the Administrative Assistant will be to work as part of our team to provide clerical support, investigate and coordinate health and wellness resources and function as the first point of contact to clients and visitors. The Administrative Assistant works under the supervision of the Office Manager. On occasion, flexibility is required for this position to assist with events or staff absences.
Duties:
•Greet visitors and telephone callers, route and resolve information requests
•Perform administrative duties; schedule appointments, prepare correspondence, create, and updatespreadsheets, edit documents, operate, and maintain office equipment, research, copying,assembling, filing, etc.
•Receive mail and packages and distribute to appropriate personnel
•Provide clerical support and assistance to all staff and visitors
•Maintain supply inventory, anticipate, and communicate supplies needed to purchaser
•Set up and clean up for meetings, activities, and events
•Assist members to navigate health services and insurances
•Organize reception area, tidy / clean office space, boardroom, and kitchen
•Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team
•Assist in other duties as directed
Qualifications:
•Grade 12 High School Diploma with formal post secondary education
•Minimum of 2 years of related work experience with an excellent employment record
•Proficiency in MS Office and demonstrated competency in keyboarding (40 wpm)
•Highly organized and detailed individual with excellent customer service and communication skills
•Professional team player with a positive attitude, the ability to work independently, efficiently,effectively follow instructions and take initiative
•Ability to meet the physical demands of the job including bending, carrying, and lifting
•Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
•Required to complete and pass Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse RegistryCheck and Child Abuse Registry Check
•Must have a valid Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License and access to a personal vehicle
