It’s that time of year for Prairie Day!!! This will be a chance for the general public to experience the tall grass prairie in person with guided walks in the morning and presentations in the afternoon. Topics include native bees and where to find them, changes in the local bird community, gardening with prairie species, and effort to help the endangered Poweshiek Skipperling.
Guided walks will be about an hour long and encourage everyone to social distance since we have lots of space at the Preserve. Meet at the Prairie Shore Interpretive Trail (6 km west of Gardenton on PR209).
Lunch will be at Gardenton Park and their volunteers will serve perogies with sausage or hotdogs, ice cream and an assortment of canned drinks. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit in the shade of the oak trees for the afternoon presentations.
Admission: $5.00 for adults, free for children 12 years and under
