Summer Resource Technician 2026

Positions: 2

Full-time seasonal

Location: SRRWD Steinbach office

Period of Employment: May 04 – August 28, 2025

Hours per week: Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm (35 hrs/wk)

Wage: $19.00 to $21.00/hr, depending on qualifications

Deadline: February 27, 2026

Responsibilities/Duties

Assist with the implementation of summer programming and projects for the current season
Collect land elevations using precision GPS equipment in a competent and reliable manner
Collecting surface water samples on waterways within the Watershed District
Assist with other environmental projects as required
Support the Project Supervisor and other staff with project preparation, management and events
Assist with light maintenance of office, lawn and garden
Assist with facility maintenance at the Tourond Creek Discovery Centre and other projects

Qualifications/Skills:

Completed at least one year of relevant post-secondary education
Environment/Agriculture/Social Science/Science/Engineering background is an asset
Drone experience considered an asset
Enjoy working outdoors
Must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Excellent interpersonal skills, approachable, resourceful, self-motivated, able to work independently and communicate clearly
Knowledge of Excel, map reading and GPS an asset
Background knowledge of the SRRWD program an asset
Knowledge of multiple languages considered an asset
